Book Review: The Alchemist
As someone at Harper Collins puts it "Reading The Alchemist was like getting up at dawn and seeing the sun rise while the rest of the world still slept."
The Alchemist, a 160 pages book, has affected millions ever since it was written. Paulo Coelho's ultimate classic has challenged us, the cowards, who fall back, at sometime or other in the our life on the strange, mysterious word spelled FATE.Taking the story of Santiago, the shepherd boy from the fields of Audalasia, he takes us through the journey till the very end making it highly difficult to put the book down. The book begins with the strange, repetitive dream of the shepherd sees, and goes on to dispel the notion of fate, & instill the courage to find your destiny. The author speaks about the omens, the Language of Universe, about the fact that all things are one and about the arm that made everything. And the author weaves it all so beautifully that you understand them without being actually spoken, experiencing the Language of Universe, while getting to understand the ultimate goal of life: Realization of Dreams.Language of Universe is represented by Santiago as the shepherd understands the sheep, the deathly stillness of desert, flight of birds and many much more things as such...
Merely reading this book will make you recognize omens, understand the Language of Universe for sometime surrendering to the Beginner's Luck mentioned therein.
The book is short, with even the complex issues like that of personal calling explained i simplest of terms.
My advice to you is exactly the same Paolo Coelho heard, from a small's girl telling her mother, in the streets of Miami, "You should read The Alchemist".
My Rating: 9/10

Onlines are back!!
Yes u read it rite...The onlines are back to haunt us...This time more vigorously...Coz this time the are gonna be more than before....
The JNTU has decide to put back the dreaded onlines back into the curriculum...We hated it, we loved it for the luck factor, but when they were to be out we had a relief feeling gushing in and many of us had said Thanksgiving prayer...But this is just not gonna end...And end so easily....No way friends...They are back again from the next semester...N the distribution of the marks is terrorizing, it completely changes the external exam pattern as well...Lemme give it clearly below:
External : 70%
Internal(Including Descriptive and Onlines) : 20%
Teacher Assessment : 10%
So friends...Next time you get up in da class..Make sure every move of your impresses the faculty...Coz this thing under control can easily have 10% of marks in ur sheet...
Alright...No more scary nights for you all...All tht is said above is true but for the P.G. Courses under the university..That means the axe has fallen pretty hard on MBA, MCA and M.Tech Departments of our college...B.Techs live in peace...
Updates.: The results for the 4th years are already out...3rd years are now keeping their fingers crossed for the D - day... I am happy till their results are out..Coz we don't worry until the sword dangling has js a thread remaining to support...
Had the opportunity of visiting college today...
The canteen has lost a part of its shed in two positions...Thanks to the winds two days back...Will get the pics as soon as possible..But this hasn't stopped the new canteen lovers from going there...Faculties are usually found having the chai and chit chatting even in the groups of ten to twelve...Even the corridors are crowded in the days when juniors don't have any exam going...The juicewala bhayya is now seen in front of the counter most of the time...As there seems to be no takers for it...Chinese section has altogether been closed for the vacations...There are literally no cool drinks and the fridge is just used for a packet or two of butter milk...Alright friends I spent pretty much of time in canteen so wrote all theres to be...Now coming to buildings...There is an addition to the existing number of drawing halls with one being formed on the third floor of Aryabhatta Block...
N yea better late than never...
