4th year

I can't decide whether i am excited or saddened by the thought of the end of B.tech. Excited, mostly. But most of all i am terribly scared! Getting accustomed to college life was one huge, tough job for me and the thought of having to go through it all over again is simply numbing. Project, job, higher studies, marriage- an excess of options is whats so scary. One wrong decision and you can't just rewind and change. So, all my fellow batch-mates, choose carefully. Herez wishing you all loads of luck.

National Anthem

This one needs no introduction... Its in hearts of all of us...And will continue to be there till the end of teh world... The best song I have ever heard....

Trsyt With Destiny

This was the speech made by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru when we got independence on 15th August 1947. Even today this text inspires us... I post it here today to re instill in IARE'ians the feeling of independence and to convey the fact that there is nothing impossible and to realise the dreams towards which we have to work as Indians...Truly inspiring...

"Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance. It is fitting that at this solemn moment we take the pledge of dedication to the service of India and her people and to the still larger cause of humanity.

At the dawn of history India started on her unending quest, and trackless centuries are filled with her striving and the grandeur of her success and her failures. Through good and ill fortune alike she has never lost sight of that quest or forgotten the ideals which gave her strength. We end today a period of ill fortune and India discovers herself again. The achievement we celebrate today is but a step, an opening of opportunity, to the greater triumphs and achievements that await us. Are we brave enough and wise enough to grasp this opportunity and accept the challenge of the future?

Freedom and power bring responsibility. The responsibility rests upon this Assembly, a sovereign body representing the sovereign people of India. Before the birth of freedom we have endured all the pains of labour and our hearts are heavy with the memory of this sorrow. Some of those pains continue even now. Nevertheless, the past is over and it is the future that beckons to us now.

That future is not one of ease or resting but of incessant striving so that we may fulfil the pledges we have so often taken and the one we shall take today. The service of India means the service of the millions who suffer. It means the ending of poverty and ignorance and disease and inequality of opportunity. The ambition of the greatest man of our generation has been to wipe every tear from every eye. That may be beyond us, but as long as there are tears and suffering, so long our work will not be over.

And so we have to labour and to work, and work hard, to give reality to our dreams. Those dreams are for India, but they are also for the world, for all the nations and peoples are too closely knit together today for any one of them to imagine that it can live apart Peace has been said to be indivisible; so is freedom, so is prosperity now, and so also is disaster in this One World that can no longer be split into isolated fragments.

To the people of India, whose representatives we are, we make an appeal to join us with faith and confidence in this great adventure. This is no time for petty and destructive criticism, no time for ill-will or blaming others. We have to build the noble mansion of free India where all her children may dwell.

The appointed day has come-the day appointed by destiny-and India stands forth again, after long slumber and struggle, awake, vital, free and independent. The past clings on to us still in some measure and we have to do much before we redeem the pledges we have so often taken. Yet the turning-point is past, and history begins anew for us, the history which we shall live and act and others will write about.

It is a fateful moment for us in India, for all Asia and for the world. A new star rises, the star of freedom in the East, a new hope comes into being, a vision long cherished materializes. May the star never set and that hope never be betrayed!

We rejoice in that freedom, even though clouds surround us, and many of our people are sorrow stricken and difficult problems encompass us. But freedom brings responsibilities and burdens and we have to face them in the spirit of a free and disciplined people.

On this day our first thoughts go to the architect of this freedom, the Father of our Nation [Gandhi], who, embodying the old spirit of India, held aloft the torch of freedom and lighted up the darkness that surrounded us. We have often been unworthy followers of his and have strayed from his message, but not only we but succeeding generations will remember this message and bear the imprint in their hearts of this great son of India, magnificent in his faith and strength and courage and humility. We shall never allow that torch of freedom to be blown out, however high the wind or stormy the tempest.

Our next thoughts must be of the unknown volunteers and soldiers of freedom who, without praise or reward, have served India even unto death.

We think also of our brothers and sisters who have been cut off from us by political boundaries and who unhappily cannot share at present in the freedom that has come. They are of us and will remain of us whatever may happen, and we shall be sharers in their good and ill fortune alike.

The future beckons to us. Whither do we go and what shall be our endeavour? To bring freedom and opportunity to the common man, to the peasants and workers of India; to fight and end poverty and ignorance and disease; to build up a prosperous, democratic and progressive nation, and to create social, economic and political institutions which will ensure justice and fullness of life to every man and woman.

We have hard work ahead. There is no resting for any one of us till we redeem our pledge in full, till we make all the people of India what destiny intended them to be. We are citizens of a great country on the verge of bold advance, and we have to live up to that high standard. All of us, to whatever religion we may belong, are equally the children of India with equal rights, privileges and obligations. We cannot encourage communalism or narrow-mindedness, for no nation can be great whose people are narrow in thought or in action.

To the nations and peoples of the world we send greetings and pledge ourselves to cooperate with them in furthering peace, freedom and democracy.

And to India, our much-loved motherland, the ancient, the eternal and the ever-new, we pay our reverent homage and we bind ourselves afresh to her service."

Here's one video of the Song Vande Mataram - The National Song the female version...

Happy Independence Day - Let this Independence Day give us freedom from all our problems and give us a new direction to work together towards everlasting confidence and peace...

Jai Hind!

Greeness in IARE

Dis is one more post to support GO GREEN DRIVE started by the blog

Heloo IARE..

Its nice to read the GO GREEN article...

we've been learning abt the mentioned points since our schooling but...but..neva followed it...

atleast this tym..lets bring about a change in ourselves and start following it...:)

The first thing tht comes to my mind we think about going green or savin the planet is just a simple thing and tht is.....
DUSTBIN..
y arnt ppl usin it..?? :(

lets start from IARE...
u
can find dustbins placed at several places in the campus and u can find
litter around the dustbin...but not inside the dustbin..

ppl are soo very lazy and carelees, not evn bothered to see if they
disposed the waste correctly in the dustbin or around the dustbin..
I think nobody eva realised this...
Today go and hav alook at it...
The scene never changed since the dustbin made an entry to the coll.. :
|

This is a reminder for all the Iare'ians who like to go green this independence day.

Correct ur frnds wen u see them throwing litter here and there in the campus..
Its not a compulsion tht u shuld only correct ur frnds...it can b any Iare'ian correcting another Iare'ian....

I dnt think its a tuff job to correct ppl in this regard...so lets start it...

We know we cant change the whole world in a day or two...But something v can do is mark a begining to that change .

Good Luck to all the go greeenerss...we indeed hav a task ahead to DO..
LETS BEGIN IT..CONTINUE IT..NEVA STOP IT...

Go Green...

Its high tym we tak up d cause of doin smthin for our Environment..we live sch mechanical lives whch often make us 4get d realities of life..if we neglect our surroundings hw wil it b possible for any life to continue further??hw wil d generations to cum survive without any resources??why talk abt d future??lets jst think abt our 2moro..our careless attitude towards these things is makin environmental conditions to worsen nd make life difficult for all..

Atleast nw we must realize wts happenin to our mother earth nd not make things go out of control nd make sure that we are doin our little bit to save our Environment..lets be responsible nd try to be new change..d perfect day to start all this would b our Independence Day..and lets tak a vow tht we wil do our best to make this world a better place to live in..

A few things u can easily do to save our Environment..(all this is supposed to be common sense..but we are found often ignoring such small things..)

1) Turn off all d lights, fans and electronic appliances whn not in use(make sure u unplug thm as well).

2) Use energy saving appliances.

3) Recycle all d possible products.

4) Do not waste paper. Use both sides of paper. Avoid printing more nd put up stuff on bulletin boards instead of wasting papers on handouts.

5) ALWAYS say NO to plastic. Try ur best to avoid it. Instead use recycled paper bags, ceramic cups, recycled wood.

6) Use as mch as paint required. Go for painting with a brush or rollers instead of spraying.

7) Reuse bags, containers nd utensils.

8) Go for cloth napkins instead of paper ones.

9) Always get a pollution check for ur vehicle.

10) Join a carpool or a vanpool instead of travelling individually.

11) Buy rechargeable batteries.

12) Check for any water leaks at home. Don’t let water run off continuously.

13) Don’t dump anything into d water sources.

14) Don’t dump anything on d roads. Keep ur surroundings clean.

15) Plant trees.

16) Learn to borrow nd share things instead of buying new things all d time. Examples: books, muvis.

17) Don’t buy bottled water. Toxic plastic again!

18) Buy stuff which is alwys eco-friendly.

These are d few things whch u can implement in ur daily life..i’m sure u wil hav better ideas.. :-)

So, lets go green celebrating our Independence..!!

Lets start implementing these small things..After all tiny drops make a big ocean..!!

So, why wait for smbody else to start it for u??

One can expect a change in d society only if it starts frm within..

Go ahead..nd be d CHANGE..!!

Change for a better u, for a better society, a better surrounding and a better world whch wil continue to be wonderful place to live in for centuries to cum..!!! :-) :-)

Riti

Happy to have u back :-)

A Green India.. 8-> :-)

Got up in the morning... felt little change... compared with last few days.. then i opened the window and peeped out.. felt a kind of happiness inside.. refreshingly new feeling.. what's that?... then i realized.. its raining:) drizzling in fact.. said a "wow" to myself.. went into past.. reminiscing some sweet times with rain.. remembered college.. then woke up from the dreams.. hurried for the bus.. in the little drops of fun in the form of water.. fortunately, missed the bus.. now i can back to home while enjoying the rain.. reached home..:)
Well, everything is alright till now.. but remember this.. we are getting these monsoons in the wrong time.. we should've been enjoying that from the very day of July.. but we aint.. why?
Its because of us.. indeed because of us... the way we are living now is resulting the environment today..
Pollution, no one can live without polluting the environment.. very tough yeah? think once.. if we gotta go out, we need a vehicle which cant live without polluting.. concentrating the beautiful ambiance with the harmful gases..
So lets make little changes.. in our lives.. try to help the environment.. and so to us.. lets plant for any occasion..
and one more idea, we, the youth of India, lets make bicycles, a fashion..so that everyone will use them.. it doesn't effect the environment.. also gives a good healthy body.. gives nice structure.. gives more fans :D
hmmm..conclusion.. We are in August.. it is of 15th.. the independence day.. of the free India.. no freedom is of free.. red blood was shed.. we didn't contribute anything for the country.. so lets compensate by making the India, a green India..
Jai Hind..

Environment

This is written by a reader who has kindly consented to be a part of the go Green drive begun by the blog. The term environment encompasses all living and non living things occurring naturally on earth or some region thereof. We humans are blessed with many comforts from mother earth. Just take a look at some video related to outer space, the high temperatures, presence of methane instead of oxygen in the air, no water……..and then take a look at any picture of earth…..you feel like you are truly blessed and you are in heaven. The way mother earth developed all these years and finally made itself habitable for her children……a major part of which are we humans now…….so it’s our responsibility to take care of our planet but what are we doing in return? Destroying trees, increasing pollution and we even are the cause for the extinction of many of our fellow beings……we are the cause for the extinction of every two of three species on mother earth…….we are said to have the brightest brains on earth so why not use it for protecting mother earth and our fellow beings rather than destroying them? Rather than blaming someone else for it try doing things which can help protect our home….like minimizing the over use of fossil fuels, not contributing much in the release of cfc into the atmosphere, a basic one of keeping your surroundings clean, planting trees….i know that all of us already know about them but let’s try implementing it from now on and see the change in our mother india and on the whole in our home….mother earth.

So friends, let’s all of us together save our planet and make it a better place to live………

Let’s make every place on mother earth as beautiful...

Celebrating Independence

Frendz.... After a long time... Today I write with a very special reason..... 2 reasons in fact... The first one justifies the new look of the blog... Green... Friendz... This Independence Day lets celebrate by going green... Years before we were lead to Independence... Independence from foreign forces... From the forces that came onto us and had a made us suffer... We all shook hands to remove them from our land... Years later... After addition of the nth factor in every field imaginable... Today is the time to again join our hands... But this time we are having a enemy more tougher and more resilient... We have to fight the forces that are internally present... These are the fight that can last long... May be till the very end... and there is no guarantee that either one wins... But yet we have to have a nerve to fight... Today lets team up to fight the evil of polluting the environment... For it is not just today that we are harming but we are catapulting the whole of the next generations into an imaginable abyss... This Independence Day lets make sure that we take a vow not to be a part of anything that contributes to the environment in a negative way... I completely understand that this article is not going to change a lot... I doubt whether this will have any effect altogether... But then lets make an initiative... For someone said Started is half done... This drive is not for preaching the environmental effects... It is merely a request... A reason to urge people to make a difference... Lets just imagine that none of us involves in anything that pollutes the environment on just one day... No use of plastics at all... And dyes or anything that will pollute the environment in some or the other way... Lets just start with not doing things that will pollute environment then we can go on to beautify it... i can say nothing more... Just a request not to get involved into anything that will effect environment in a negative way atleast on the independence day.... Making sure that the freedom of the country is maintained not just from forces outside but from internal forces as well... The blog will try to focus on environmental related issues along with the regular college gossip... The main idea is to spread awareness among the IARE'ians... Cos we know that each single step will definitely count... Any reader who wants to write about any issue related to environment is welcome open handed...

The team of the IARE is going for a bit of expansion... Now we will have two more authors writing for the blog on a regular basis. A short intro is given below(Alphabetical Order)

John Wycliffe - He is from Aero 3rd Year and has a flair for writing... Blog has already seen his posts and he has been named the "Contributor of the Month" for the month of July... We wish him a grand welcome and hope that he keeps the spirit of the blog going all the way...

D. Nishetha - She is from IT 3rd Year and can write pretty nicely... Even though she is completely new to the blog.. I can assure you that she is a superb writer... She is going to give her posts the twist of bollywood and the daily soaps(Hopefully)... U are also welcome... We wish you grand success as a writer...

Toppers talk...

Hey frendz... Here is a post from a topper as to what she did to top... We are trying to get more people to write like these... Hats off to you Hema...

We never aimed for topping the branch to be frank.!But last time I aimed for 80%.and I have done nothing extraordinary but just put some backup units I mean atleast one unit for backup apart from churning five of them:) and in my favourites I read 7 units out of 8(That was in neural networks and Software testing methodologies).I took meticulous care in presenting the answers.I was just concentrating how well I can put my answer from what all know.A little planning of 5 mins before answering the question hepled me presenting better. And a one and half month serious preparation before the exams made us learn so much.A must mention regarding this aspect is our combined studies! They helped all of us a lot!
Thanks

IARE - Website....

Alrite frendz... Heres something new... IARE is finally gonna have a site of its own and with pretty nice features. Mr. Srinivas from the Placement Cell is working on it... And it is planned to be launched this week... The address... Well lets wait for it to get launched... The website is designed in such a way that every student of the college will get an ID and Password as soon as the site is launched... All the details of the student are available online including the consolidated memo till date... The site also connects the faculty to the students for doubts clarification wherein the student needs to send the mail to the concerned faculty member and the faculty member can reply to the student via mail or personally... The main idea of the whole site is to remover the needs of notices int he college and everything that happens in the college is informed via mail or SMS... There is also gona be a forum for the students and the companies can contact students directly via the database uploaded on the website and this data will be kept on the site till the college exists... All the students once wen they complete the course they ll be placed in the Alumni Category and can still be a member of IARE Website... Plans are underway to put up as many video and audio lectures possible to make the site more educative... The site will also have information about any seminar that is gona be held in the campus and students themselves can set notices for giving a seminar on a particular date subject to HOD and Placement Officer approval. Students also have a feature of chatting and mailing anything from the site without going to other service providers... There is an option of giving Webinars rite from their homes. The whole concept lies in bringing information to the student rather the student going to the information. There is also an Social Networking Application present on the lines of Orkut. Achievers will be announced on the site as a banner on the very top of the site. We are relying on the intranet service in the college thru which all the information about just anything from attendance to the marks gets uploaded to the server in the Placement Cell and thereby to an External Server.. We will get all the information by the time we reach our homes.

Now the biggest of all.. This whole site was designed on the lines of Boston University and we are going for a tie up with Boston University and the whole process will be completed within 2 months... This will give us access to all the lectures given by the Boston University Lecturers via our website. The last thing.... Lets hope that our blog gets mentioned in the site as the blog of IARE.

I cant wait for the launch of this website... Especially after so many features getting mentioned.

Lets wait frendz... This Week...

History of Friendship Day

Well heres another post by a reader about the History of Friendship Day

well, first of all a very happpi frienddsheep day 2 all the
guys/gals .
there is no particular incident behind the formation of this day,the tradition of dedicating a day in honor of friends began in US in 1935.Gradually the festival gained popularity and today Friendship Day is celebrated in large number of countries. On this day people spend time with their friends and express love for them.. Exchange of Friendship Day Gifts like flowers, cards and wrist bands is a popular tradition of this occasion.
The United States Congress, in 1935, proclaimed the first Sunday of August as National Friendship Day. Since then, celebration of National Friendship Day became an annual event.
Following the popularity and success of Friendship Day in US, several other countries adopted the tradition of dedicating a day to friends. Today, Friendship Day is enthusiastically celebrated by several countries across the world. In 1997, the United Nations named Winnie the Pooh as the world's Ambassador of Friendship.
Many friends wish each other with exchange of gifts and cards on this day. "Friendshipbands" (.....uhhhhhhhh!!!) are very popular in India. With the advent of social networking sites, friendship day is also being celebrated online. The commercialization of the Friendship Day celebrations has led to some dismissing it as a "marketing gimmick".
