Salut to 2009...

Alrite frnds... Last day of the year... Amid all the plans as to which party to head for and which dress to wear... So before letting down the hair for 31st nite party lets jus see wht da college had in the year that was...

From the high speculations of the new princi cumin in to take over frm the EEE HOD to the change in college timings... We have had a lot... From the January mantra if the upcoming cultural fest and change of timings... WE had the febuary totally dedicated to internals and the annual techinal fest Technofest... Yeah dis time the festival sw a lot of gud papers being presented to a lot of fun activities that were lined up for the 2 days... Lets hope for gud one dis year too... March had the Cultural Fest frenzy going on... Even after the actual fest... And then the April had with it the unmistable charm of lurking exams... May had the final examinations being taken and then June had the usual college vacation (I call it so even it was not for the complete month), July lost into the new buks and da freshly stacked bookshelves, August had that internal feeling with the tours being on the cards, September was lost in the tours and from October began the practicals tension... November had the finals extending even to the December and then the so boring so long holidays..... This year we saw a lot of new things happening in the college - From Vnguards now being a recognised organisation in college to the first ever Art Exhibition in the college... We even got a new canteen though in the adjacent campus to the opening of the Nescafe Stall in the middle.. From the changed entry to the college to the new building that started to be built.. N yea a new principal taking over after the so long tenure of the ex principal.... We have seen a lot of things happening frnds.... n as the picture goes... Theres is still a lot more in the stor for us... Nevertheless changes or not.. We IARE'ians can not have their spirits dampened by anything....

Till then take care... Have fun... N yea do remember the mantra.... All Izz Well!!

Happy New Year! May this year be blessed for all of us!

With its stall jus in da middle of both the colleges... N its menu is quite affordable wid a variety to offer... I love the Hot Chocolate out there... Dis sem it seems tht the college is not gonna have many working daz... Thnx to the sports tournaments, Annual Technical Fest and the Annual Day celebrations... All the best for everythng... Effort..

Ever heard the story of the giant ship engine that failed? The ship's owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure how to fix the engine. Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a youngster. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.

Two of the ship's owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed! A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars. "What?!" the owners exclaimed. "He hardly did anything!" So they wrote the old man a note saying, "Please send us an itemized bill." The man sent a bill that read:

Tapping with a hammer - $ 2
Knowing where to tap - $ 9998

Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort and when to in your life makes all the difference. Time is very slow for those who wait, Very fast for those who are scared, Very long for those who lament, Very short for those who celebrate,
but for those who bond,
Time is Eternity...

A new building!

The college is getting a new look! I wouldn't say a face-lift of sorts, but nonetheless, infrastructure is being added.
A diploma block is coming up right in between the Aryabhatta and bharadwaj blocks. The entrance to the college has been shifted up front, near the boys cig-adda. So, tough luck guys. All in all this means you havto enter the college from behind! The road hasn't been laid out yet. Its all soggy and highly resembles a cow-track. I nearly slipped(i have a history there:P)
I really dont have a positive feeling about these changes. Instead of acquiring the surrounding land and opening up space, the new building would give a choked-up feel to the landscape. As though to make up for this, a few trees have been planted in the oddest of places. For eg. between the canteen road and the volleyball court.

I am not happy about these changes. Are you? Do leave your opinion in the comment section.

Blood Donation

Hey frendz.... Once again we are back with the social service as our motto... N this time IARE is gonna do things big enough...

To start with.... A Blood Donation Camp has been organised by the college authorities on 9th of October. All the students are requested to come forward and make this event a grand success... Please do inform your parents before you line up for donating... Heres a quick dos and donts for the interested students....

Dos:

1. Eat foods high in iron a few hours before donating to ensure that your iron count is high. These include whole grains, and dark, leafy vegetables such as spinach. The vitamin C in orange juice also helps increase iron absorption.

2. Having a light-hearted conversation with the person administering your donation can help to distract you. Pinch yourself while the needle is going in, and have something to chew on, such as gum, to take your mind off the needle. Recite something from memory, or sing a song while the blood is being drawn. Before you know it, the process will be over.

3. Have a snack after the donation. Snacks to get your blood sugar back up to a normal level will be provided. Be sure to have the juice and cookies, and rest in the center while you eat.

4. Make sure your next meal is high in protein. Also remember to consume fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water, as the combination will help your body to create new blood right away.

5. Rest for the remainder of the day. Don't plan a trip to the gym or to the dance club later. Instead, try to rest as you would if you were trying to get over a bad cold. Read, see a movie, or work on the computer, but don't push yourself too hard.

Donts:

1. Don't consume caffeinated beverages before donating. While it's important to drink plenty of fluids beforehand, caffeinated drinks are coffee, which will make the body expel more water. Stick with water instead.

2. Don't eat fatty foods prior to the process. The fat in fast foods, for example, can interfere with the blood screening done after the donation, causing the blood to be disposed of, and you don't want your donation to go to waste.

3. Don't donate on an empty stomach. Eat a good breakfast to keep your blood sugar stable and to ward off lightheadedness. Don't eat too close to donation time, however, as this may result in an upset stomach.

4. Don't donate if you weigh less than 110 pounds or if you're younger than 17 years of age.

A team of docs will be available at the campus on the day. First timers are advised not to get panicky.... Everything wil be fine...

Moon.... The Beauty Unleashed!!

Hi GUYS/GALS,

Most of us might not remember 30th August 2009.it was the day when Chandrayaan -1 mission was called off. Much unexpected news was telecasted, but it was said that Chandrayaan has accomplished 95% of its objective. Chandrayaan -1 launched on 22nd October 2008, was declared two years mission which is abruptly ended now. (THIS IMAGE IS OF MOON SENT BY CHANDRAYAAN)

BLUE shows the signature of water,

GREEN shows the brightness of the surface as measured by reflected infrared radiation from the sun

RED shows an iron-bearing mineral called pyroxene

Chandrayaan-1 had completed more than 3400 revolutions around the moon. It had dispatched over 70,000 images of the moon surface. Overall, during its ten months of existence, Chandrayaan -1 completed 312 days in orbit and provided large amount of data

Now again news flashed that the images which Chandrayaan gave, traced out water on the moon surface.

NASA’s Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3), carried by Chandrayaan under a joint project by Nasa and Isro last October, had discovered water on the moon's surface. NASA thanked ISRO for this gr8 discovery.

I FEEL PROUD THAT THIS HAS BEEN DISCOVERED BY INDIA.

Another good news is................................

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is planning 2nd moon mission Chandrayaan-2 in 2013. Russia's Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos) is joining with ISRO for development of Chandrayaan-2 Lander/Rover.

This second unmanned lunar exploration mission proposed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is projected cost of Rs. 425 crore (US$ 90 million) {Remember earlier one costs Rs. 386 crore (US$ 80 million)}

Chandrayaan-2 will consist of the spacecraft and a landing platform with the moon rover.

The rover would move on wheels on the lunar surface, pick up samples of soil or rocks, do a chemical analysis and send the data to the spacecraft orbiting above.
