Crisis management!!
Even with all the pressure, you could save your neck.
So, all my fellow sailors, just keep these points in mind during those last few crucial minutes before the exam.
Revise- That's a miracle worker. Learning entirely new concepts will only mess up your already filled-up brain.
Go mum- If you aren't among the revising-types, then you should as well shut-up and sit silent.
Especially, if you know yourself to be a 'nervous wreck' before the exams, then talking lots will not help lots. It only contributes to your hyperactivity. Those delicately balanced answers in your head could fall over the edges! Being slow and calm is the thing. If you are desperate, don't show it.
Fill it- Most importantly, don't go writing on an empty stomach! ( I had done that for the last exam and I had a tough time trying to silent my tummy! Gives you a feeling of being weak :( )
Knock out the bad vibes - Its as simply stated as this- being pessimistic doesn't help, so why be that way! Tell yourself, "whatever the outcome of the exam, I ll be prepared for it and not feel pissed off after completion." That way you aren't all mood-off and angry after the exam.
All this said and done, let's move to the icing on the cake. - The exam.
There are some clever and smart ways of giving an illusion that you have written your answers correctly! ;) The paper-corrector could actually be mildly fooled if you be smart in presenting you paper. Here's another list of fool-proof tatics I beleive will do you good.
Underline- Now, dont start underlining every damned word and preposition. That'll drive the correcting guy crazy. Underline genuinely important words-key words.
Write in points - When writing in points, you'd give the organised look and same time fill up the pages!
Hopefully, these tips ll get the best out of you! Good luck

Pre-exam hysterics
Today(28th april) happened to be the first day of external exams for the 2nd years. Trust me, its a real sight seeing friends and their hyper-conditions. What I enjoy most is the way each friend enters the college gate and the expression each gives. Those smiles and smirks which say ''Too-bad-a-position-to-bother", those tensed up nerves, those contorted faces and sarcarstic expressions. Someone walks up crying while another is uber-cool about it .
I for one had an attack of cold-headache combo(my trademark exam sickness)!
But, noone really bothers about the other and you can be as freakish as you could ever get.
Live it out. Go nailbiting. Be hysteric. Curse.
Cheers ;)
Down the memory lane...
This's Ashwin from the Comp. Science Dept., 4th yr. Looking at the previous posts, I was really prompted to post my experiences at the college. Trust me guys, it were these 4 yrs which brought about a lot of changes in me. It were these 4 yrs which brought about a complete U-turn to my life and helped me meet some amazing ppl . It were these 4 yrs which made me realize my potential(not that ive completely realized it). I still remember the day when I came with my parents in 2004 to take a look at the college and was disappointed looking at the single building which was then under construction .Dad told me not to worry too much abt building n all and focus on studies.I went and sat inside the class which was being taken by a nervous lecturer who was probably delivering his first session. I was pretty nervous looking at the crowd around who were making incessent noise in the class much to the agony of the lecturer who was getting even more nervous. At the end of the day, I was frustrated and wanted to kick myself for choosing this college. I made up my mind that day not to discuss things abt college wid my parents and made it a point to adhere to it for full 4 yrs.But today, I realize that if not for this cllge, I would not have learnt so many things, met so many ppl who would think just like me and are ready to do anything for me, probably would not have seen a college grow so much in a short span of time.
After finishing up wid the second year, during the holidays, I was caught with this bug of finding a min-project fr myself and went from pillar to post .Not many people from my class responded positively, thanks to the fact that this wasnt part of the cirriculum. Approached a couple of faculty members, who behaved as though it was a sin to do something out of the cirriculum. But after I got back to the college, I came across people from the other section who were interested in doing a mini project too. All of us couldnt do it coz of lack of awareness. That was the first time I realized the damage caused by lack of communication amongst ourselves.
One of the major lessons I learnt out of the whole experience is, it is always the students who make up an institution and not the faculty, labs, placements etc.
If the students are good enough, the complimentaries automatically follow. The initiatives have to be taken up by the students. The fire has to come from within. If things are wrong, it is the students who should come together and try to sort it out.1 Tulasi and 1 Vissu can never make things happen. It has to be hundreds of TUlasis and Vissus coming together to make a cause happen. Its not that our college doesn't have the people who cant take initiatives. You can find them in every class, every dept. its just that they're scattered. All of them need to come together. We never got the right platform for ourselves to come together. Infact we never bothered to create such a platform for ourselves to come together.Good to see the juniors putting in efforts to come together to make a difference.
Would like to congratulate the creators of this blog for their untiring efforts in posting updates inspite of the fact that they're held up with exams. Kudos to your commitment levels guys. Keep it going. Would like to end this post wid my fav. quote:
"You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winners are done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't what you want to be because of him, or her, or anybody..."
-Rocky Balboa
Would like to see all u juniors play a crucial role in taking our cllge into the so called ivy league..
Cheers
All the best!!

Acc. update
The college had its finishing touches done and the aayas religiously swept and mopped every place a safe 15 minutes before they stepped in(they were grumbling and making faces though ;).
A friend and myself were sitting in the library(classes were locked) with our books.
At about 2 in the afternoon, the team came up to the library. They made way to the digital library(the 6 computers got their internet connection) when one of them commented on ''the library hall being too long...noise echo would be more''! Who could have pointed out such minor details!! Another asked about the ''internet speed''.
Suddenly, a person came up and asked us about the library book-issuing facilities and we explained to him the details. Then came the inevitable question(whose answer i was prepared with!) "Is everything fine? you got any grievances regarding the library? You get enough books?"
My reply was as convincing as I could get!- "Yea, we get all the material needed and we have no problems with the way things are here :P"
After further surveying the library, they left .
So guys, we did our bit in getting Acc for the college!
cheers ;)
PS: Today(26th) is the grand finale for the Acc. Fingers crossed!

The initiator's mail!
This is Viswanath from CSE 2nd year.Hope you are happy with the new upgrades in our college, so many in so less time. really surprised to see so many changes. When i first joined the college it was far different from now.I never ever imagined it would turn up to something like this so soon. thanx to the accreditation. I have been associated with this blog, but I'm being out of this blog for few days due to certain reasons, but my intension of starting this blog was simply to give a platform to put in ideas where the present and alumni students can interact and develop themselves and also do something for the college. People have criticized me of wasting my time ... but think, college life is the most memorable and this all happens in a college.... can't we return a favor to the college????? Even if its very small , something that can improve its standards and help hundreds of students.
The first week of having the blog was exciting and encouraging enough.... but there was always that "void" feeling ,of people not really reacting the way I thought they would. Of course this is just a blog not a official website and also there was no publicity or stuff. But no one came p with any ideas..... juz think , one small idea or one small thought can change the life of hundred students..... not that we don't have ideas ..its just that we don't bother to say it out or try to make them into reality.....
Now at this point , I went through this mail from Mr.Shravan a student of CSE first batch. He came up with a really useful and practical idea and also promised to help us. This I consider the first step towards having a better college and helping students of IARE have a successful carrier ahead. Hope you people do spare sometime for this interactive blog...... 5 minutes a day , when you have no one to chat in yahoo or scrap in orkut or poke in facebook. You brain can do miracles......now don't be selfish do something to others .... we are all your friends...... Just think a small initiative from our side can change the life of hundreds of students who join our college in future and we can proudly say that " We are the students of IARE."
Wishing you all success.
yours truly,
Viswanath.
P.S: If you like our intention of starting this blog and having it, please support us ....... keep visiting and tell our friends from IARE to visit this blog and also to give in their valuable suggestions and ideas.
Tulsi's two cents:
*Thanks vishwanath for the inspiring mail.*
Guys, do write in to us at ouriare@gmail.com /ouriare@yahoo.co.in
We've got mail!!
I am glad to see some one making some effort for the college. It was my dream to make some thing for the college , but the things were much different when i was there.
Let me introduce myself , I am Shravan Kumar of CSE first batch.I worked for couple of start ups in Hyderabad in Networking then moved for my masters to UCSB [University of California Santa Barbara ].I have learned many thing in my masters, now if i look back if i had more guidance in my engineering i would have achieved more than what i am.So i want to make some effort and help the people who are really looking to be some one.May be i could be of some use......My idea is here it goes :
The main aim of this mail is i want to take the initiative to start the followingDescription of Problem with JNTU :
If we analyze the syllabus what JNTU has its very vast and good amount , but we miss the main content called practical approach. We are missing some research oriented thinking which is very important for Engineers.Solution:If we start some thing called projects in IARE , where many people will start discuss about the ideas and new thinking towards the problems. The problems typically might be simple engineering or complex research oriented. If people start working on them they might become some good papers , engineering projects or a start up too......I can provide the material of my college in different subjects so that you guys can actually go thru them.In the same way if most of the alumni try to do this we can build a better college with higher intellectuals.
- Rome is not built in one day.
Thanks,Shravan.
'Shravan, thanks lots for taking charge and mailing us and more so, for agreeing to help us, current students in project-info.'

Poll 2:Results.
Do you think that lab faculty are being too rude?
yes 7 (70%)
No 0 (0%)
Action against them must be taken 5 (50%)
Its ok they are meant to be that way 1 (10%)
Total No. of votes-13.
Most of the pollers answered in the affirmative while not even one person felt that they weren't.
One single soul felt that 'they were meant to be that way' -n that person is myself ;)
The next poll is in the waiting. It would be great if I could get suggestions for what the next poll could be on!!
Send in your ideas! and keep voting and visiting.

' Who is feeling lucky today?' ;)
10:35- Exam begins.
10:37:42-Exam ends.
10:38- RESult is oUt!!
No prizes for guessing what i am talking about.Yeah.Right. The Onlines!
For those( prev. batches) who aren't familiar with them, the format of these exams goes thus-
Each exam.20mins.20 marks.20 pathetic multiple-choice bits. On spot results.
They are called so because they are computer-based n etc. :P
These online exams are Jntu's best-diguised form of entertainment and time-pass. If you ask me, nothing related to online exams makes any sense to me!;)
When in the first year, we had onlines for the very first time, we had first on menu MM (math) exam and we prepared for it! (Those were the daysss..... :P). None of us had an idea that there was a countdown going on and that it had a time-limit of only 20 mins(I saw the stop watch...but din't bother :D). After 20 mins everything froze and results appeared on the screen.
We frantically looked at each other and argued for the rest of the day about getting such low marks!! Well, things have changed waaaay too much since that day ;)
Present day. It spells F.u.N :)
Great way to test your luck and guessing skills!!
What most people do most of the time is - Blind guessing. Answering without even bothering to read the question( or know which subject is on).
Another common tactic is my-lucky-alpha setting. Putting the same option for all the bits.
But guys, careful on this one. From first-hand info, I know the 'b' option didn't work out for my fren ;) and he fondly called the paper-setter a 'sadistic freak!!' :D
What everyone will agree with me on is that onlines are an easy way of scoring marks( 'battifying' those 'papers' ) as well as the worst way to lose them(the answer key is sometimes messed-up).
So, frens here's wishing you all Luck LUCK And More LuCk. :)
Have fun.
Cheers.
PS: Whats your opinion on them? Should Jntu scrape them out? Leave your comments here by clicking on the 'comment' tag on below and posting the same.

Keeping our college clean.
Now, ALL we need to do is actually USE them. That is a pretty simple thing to do. Yesterday, I happened to see wrappers and other waste stuff thrown ARouNd the dustbin(outside the canteen) within a radius of about a metre. Now, why would someone take pains to ignore the dustbin and instead litter the place?
So guys, no harm in using our dustbins. Lets first do our bit in keeping the college in good standards.
Those, already following cleanliness, please initiate your friends too.
And those of you who haven't yet thought of keeping the premises clean. Let's begin today by promising to always use the dusbtbin for disposing waste.
Its never too late to begin.
Peace.Luck.

The result of first Audience poll
What is the best upgrade in our college for now?
basketball court - 12
The blue color exterior - 2
Principal's chamber - 11
the tiny rotating gate - 18
and so the winner is the "The tiny rotating gate"
So people I was amazed with the rotating gate...... looks like even you are ..!!!
Whatte post!
Today was my big-day, job interview with one of the top software gaints-NoNameTechnologies. The interview was being held at the exclusive seminar hall of our colg,IARE (opp princi's chamber). The interviewer-guy arrived at the college looking rather confused . A little birdie told me later that the poor guy had had a hard time locating the college on the dundigal map! ;)
The interviews kick-started a good 1 hour late, and me being the 10th(and last) in line, went roaming around the college to cool off. I got back for my interview around 10 mins late, but put on the most flattering smile I could ever manage and stepped in. The interviewer looked harrased, and if you ask me ,he looked like a cross-over between a man and a freaked-out porcupine.
Interviewer: "You are 15 mins late! Explain yourself"
My Sincere Self: "Sir. I am mega-sorry!I was taking a round in the college and as you can well imagine,I lost myself in its beauty;) and lost track of time. You don't beleive me,sir? Let me elaborate. We've got huge, admirable, empty patches of land all over the place and the world's only grass-pitch on our cricket ground!Whatte pitch saar. Our canteen has a stock of choclates and chips which cannot be found selling (Even if you move heaven and earth) elsewhere on the planet.Whatte canteen saar. And why go that deep, our college color speaks for itself. Whatte ...."
Interviewer: "Yeah!! I get it...OK.I better proceed with the serious stuff. Whats your good name?and study details"?
My Sincere Self: "My name is ****** sir.I have a very gr8 history sir.I think I should start from the very beginning for you. It so happened that I was present very close to the Jntu building when the explosion occured...yes,sir,I am talking about that explosion which blasted jntu to bits and pieces(Courtesy:Vissu. For details :http://ouriare.blogspot.com/2008/04/contributors-special.html)...well,so at that time, as I stood open-mouthed and wide-eyed and watched the destruction of my dear alma-mater, a miracle happened..."
Interviewer : "Yeah.I am sure something dId happen. But, let me be spared. Mail me the miracle. For now lets proceed with the technical questions. :x
What is quick sort? And what is its time complexity"?
My Sincere Self:(smiling)." Oh.Whatte easy question sar. Quick sort is that sort where you sort very quick,quick...like...very fast. It is called so because it is quick, quicker, quickest of all the sorts of sorts. You can do it quickly because it can be done fast and fast means agile and agile means quick.Time complexity is also quickest only sir. It is not complex time but very quick so very less comparitively."
At this point of time I couldnt but help noticing the expression of the interviewer. He was...well lets say there were tears in his eyes...ofcourse tears of happiness. No other guy must have given such clear description of the mysteries of quick sort!
Interviewer: "That was enough.Answer this simple question.WHAT IS C LANGUAGE"?
My Sincere Self: Oh.C language sir.Whatte language saar.C language is what is between the B and D language sir. It is very...sir what can i tell you.Whatever I say is very less. I am the biggest fan of C language sir. I breathe C .I eat C.I drink C.I see C.
Interviewer: Oh I.C. I think I have had my answers. Now, OuTt you go .
My Sincere Self: Oh.Sir :) When do I join sir? Salary sir? :) I am telling you sir, I will make your company become *this and that* and do *this and that* and bring about *this and that* results :)
Interviewer: (looking oddly wierd) YoU WaNt to KNow whetheRR Yu ARRe INn Or oUUUTTT? ThEn heRe, HeaR the OBviouS veRDict! ... ---
"Get up dumbo. Sir is herree." Somebody is nudging me painfully hard, waking me up from my sleeep. O Dammitt .It was a dream. And here is the lecturer standing right in front of me!
"Tulsi.Sleeping in class? This is the n'th time I've caught you.Having one of those placement-dreams again? Have you been selected at leaaast THIS time? Its a pity you don't get placed even in your dreams. Anyways. You know where the door is. Out you go QUicK,QuickER,QuicKEST"!!!!

Resurrect!

The ECE students have successfully established a student organisation- RESURRECT!
After long time and effort on the part of the ECE third years and faculty, the association was inaugrated today in the college seminar hall amidst great enthusiasm and buzz!
The program kicked off at 3:30 P.M, with the chief guest being Mr.Sathish Reddy (Director,RCI).The other big names who graced the ocassion were Rajashekar reddy(Chairman),Seshagiri(ECE,HOD),Rajeshwar rao and our princi P.C .Rao.
It began with the usual rituals of lamp lighting after which there were talks by all the concerned people.
The Resurrect team consists of
President-Pratheek,Vice president-M.Sneha,Secretary-Paramesh,Personal Secretary-Deepa,Treasurer-Niharika and administrative officer-Akash; all students from 1,2 or 3rd years ECE.
The organisation has a count of approximately 250 members with a membership fee of Rs 100/-
The money collected will go into providing facilities for its members which include Conducting of seminars, PPTs,Workshops, guest lectures and innovative Mini projects. It aims to act as a ''mini society which will enable students to have their requirements met and let the spirit of share-n-care be their ideology". It promises to be a self-sustaining organisation which evolves and develops over time.Social activities such as relief camps during calamities, blood donation etc... are also in their agenda.
For more details on it visit their blog: www.iare-resurrect.blogspot.com

It is indeed very thoughtful of the ECE branch to come up with this team and we wish them all the very best!
March on guys!

Updates

There are these new patches of tar road laid around Aryabhatta block. This was done pretty fast and frankly speaking it could have been much better. The quality seems seriously low and looks as thin as a cheese slice. You may feel I’m exaggerating….. A junior was joking “I kicked the road and a patch of it was gone!!!”Now why do they want to add on something so bad. L May be a second layer is yet to come…
Tomorrow ECE will have its first student association inaugurated. News and pics will be added soon. All the best guys!!!
All the windows are being repainted and boards to indicate which room you might end up in…. are being placed …. As I said college is trying for an accreditation and the inspection team is expected to come around for inspection in another 10 days. Hope they make it good by then. ;-)
I have received my examination form along with all my classmates, even though my attendance was 71.5 last month. All students have been given an approx of two weeks attendance by P.C.Rao. …. Now that is the reason some ppl like P.C.Rao at the end of the semester….
“Hail P.C.Rao!!!”……
Also there has been a wave of dissatisfaction among students as there has been a sudden hike in the prices of all eatables and in canteen. An increase in price by Rs.5/-….not a welcoming move Mr.Canteen Owner.…. now that is pure opportunism.
“Too bad… we hate that!!”
Note: guys pls keep commenting so that we know whether you like our work or not
